Hello stranger!

Hello again. I bet you wondered where this blog was going; four posts and then nothing. Well, it just so happens that Head Hacking really took off last year and Anthony and I have both been really busy. This blog post is really just a catch-up to describe our journey to now.

It all started with Reality is Plastic: The Art of Impromptu Hypnosis - the book that Anthony wrote following our involvement with Hypnosurvival. For those that don't know, it teaches a flexible and effective impromptu approach to hypnosis all within 100 easy-to-read pages.

To accompany RIP (Reality is Plastic), Anthony produced Reality is Plastic: The Set Pieces and Inductions DVD. This really provides a clear and visual demonstration of many of the important concepts in RIP.

Shortly after we launched our first course, The Manchurian Approach - Hypnotism for Magicians, the best-known on-line magic shop in the UK - Alakazam - got in touch and offered to make the DVD set. Knowing next to nothing about making DVDs, we jumped at the chance and the four-disc The Manchurian Approach DVD Set was released in July 2009. It was an amazing experience and one in which we learned a lot.

Now that we'd seen behind the curtain and understood a little about how to make a DVD, we embarked on making the equivalent for our other course, The Trilby Connection - Effective Street Hypnotism. Overthrow | UK (the design company we have used since the outset) had just expanded into sound and video and presented the opportunity to make it with us. We rented a set, arranged some participants and just got on with it. It wasn't cheap to make, but the love we put into it produced, in our minds, something of particular beauty and something that we are very proud of. There are only half-a-dozen or so known glitches that couldn't be fixed and to us it is 99.5% perfect.

The other product that we launched last year was Mask of Sanity. This is a full mentalism effect that can be performed close-up, in parlour or on stage. We have had a lot of fun developing this effect and a lot of great reactions while performing it.

In our first year of running The Manchurian Approach course, we were asked to run the same in Germany for a group of professional mentalists and magicians. Following a successful course, we have since delivered the same course 4 more times in Germany and once in Austria. This pretty much brings us up to the point where things stared to go crazy, on which I will chat in the next update.

Have fun

Kev
